Hawthorn District 73 Approved Snack List (Updated July 1, 2025)
The Hawthorn District 73 Approved Snack List was developed by the Whole Child Wellness Committee and the Administrative Team to help create a safe and manageable opportunity for students to enjoy a healthy snack during the school day.
General Rules
- Snack time happens during the school day.
- Label the snack with your child’s first and last name.
- No sharing of snacks.
- Students eat snacks in their own learning spaces.
- Generic or store brands are welcome.
- If a snack is not on this list, it will be sent home.
- Some items may not be allowed in certain classrooms because of allergies. Your teacher will tell you if there are changes.
- If your child needs a different snack for religious, cultural, or medical reasons, contact your building administrator or classroom teacher to request an accommodation.
