Students Raise Funds for AHA

Hawthorn District 73 elementary schools collectively raised more than $40,000 for the American Heart Association in its annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

Hawthorn Elementary North School raised $5,752. Third grader Anthony Greco was the top fundraiser at Elementary North. He raised $440.

Jump Rope For Heart is a national fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). These events engage students with jumping rope while empowering them to improve their own health and help other students with heart-health issues.
